Special Events for 2024
Little Woodham is a place where history comes to life. Throughout the year, we host a variety of events that are perfect for the whole family. From craft days to visiting soldiers, there's always something exciting happening at Little Woodham.
The soldiers are coming!
Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April
We are starting this year's season with a bang! The soldiers from Lord Brooke's Regiment of Foote will be billeted in Little Woodham as they try to recruit soldiers. How will the villagers react?
Pre-booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
May Day
Monday 6th May
Join the villagers as they celebrate the arrival of Spring. May Day was one of the holidays where everyday folk could let their hair down and have a well-earned day off. Unlike a normal day in the village, you'll see the Green Man, the Hobby Horse, the Hampshire Hog, Maypole Dancing, Morris Dancers and The Hagstone Storyteller Michael O'Leary. BBQ Street Food will be available to buy from Salt and Fire. This is one of our most popular events, and booking will be essential to ensure that you don't miss out.

As you like it
Tuesday 23rd - Friday 26th July 2024
We are proud to host The Villagers Open Air Shakespeare Group as they perform "As you like it" against the backdrop of our beautiful dell.
As You Like It is described as Shakespeare's most rural and quotable comedy. It's also very musical and features original music written for this production. Performances start at 7.30pm. For tickets, please email Ian on ianwri@gmail.com or use the link below:
Children's creative writing workshop
Sunday 11th August
We will be hosting author Lisa Wakely for a morning and an afternoon creative writing workshop at Little Woodham 17th Century Village! Tailored for 7-15 year olds, these sessions will delve into character development, finding inspiration, and sparking creativity, all set in a charming 17th-century backdrop.
Lisa's book 'Hexed' is an exciting novel for young adults, where a group of teenagers gains supernatural powers after awakening a witch's curse from the 17th century.
Tickets include admission to the village for one child and an accompanying adult. Additional children's tickets can be added.
The village will be open as normal to visitors not wanting to join the workshop
Craft Through the Ages
Sunday 8th September
Visit the village to see a selection of visiting crafters. Last year we had many stalls including hurdle makers, bee keepers, wood cutters and felt makers. All of our regular Little Woodham crafters will be there too. This is a really special day which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do!
