FAQs
Is there parking?
Yes! There is plenty of parking available.
Do I need to book?
Generally, there is no need to pre-book. The only exceptions to this are for "school or group" open dates and a few special events. These are clearly indicated on the website.
When are you next open?
You can check our open dates on the Plan your visit page of the website.
Can I bring my dog?
Well behaved dogs are more than welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Can I get around in my wheelchair?
The village is set in wooded, slightly uneven ground, but wheelchair users can generally get around. Doors to the cottages are mostly wide enough to get a chair through, but sometimes the interior may not be ideal.

Yes, there are toilets near the entrance, but none in the village.
Can I buy food or drinks?

Is there anywhere to eat a picnic?
Yes, there are a few benches in a dedicated picnic area under the trees by the village entrance.
Is there anywhere to sit in the village?
There are a few benches spread around the village where you can rest and soak up the atmosphere. You are also welcome to sit inside the houses.
Why aren't you open on more dates?
We are staffed by a dedicated but small group of volunteers and so are only able to offer limited open days.
Can I get involved?
Yes! We are always looking for volunteers. Please look at the Volunteer with us page for more information.
